About Us
The Manitoba Welsh Pony & Cob Association was founded in 1975 to promote and develop the Welsh pony breed, to encourage to the fullest co-operation of breeders and other interested persons; to make people aware of these ponies and to enjoy them with congenial companions.
We hold a yearly provincial all Welsh Show with 60+ classes, including futurity classes for halter and performance. Our quarterly newsletter “THE FLASH” is sent out to all members and new pony owners in February, May,August and November.
Our membership includes members from Manitoba, Ontario, Saskatchewan, Alberta, British Columbia, Nova Scotia, and North Dakota. A tremendous amount of effort has been put forth by members in promoting and upgrading Welsh Ponies in Manitoba, thus making Welsh the fastest growing pony breed in Manitoba.
Today’s Welsh pony is a quality animal of unusual versatility and wide use. To see him is to admire him, to own him and enjoy his companionship is a privilege that certainly will be enjoyed by more people over the years ahead.

Objective: The Manitoba Welsh Pony and Cob Association has developed a youth incentive program to promote Welsh Ponies and Cobs and to encourage the most important part of our Association, our youth. We have developed the incentive program to encourage all youth to participate in this program with their Pony/Cob.
